Anyways, I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it here safely. I apologise for not getting on here or in touch with some people before today... My first day was spent sleeping, sleeping, and sleeping some more! Yesterday I was feeling a little more alive and got a bit of unpacking done, my Office is still being prepped for painting so I still have a lot of stuff stacked up in the kitchen that will eventually be put to use in there. Today I am feeling much better, well rested, and may even go for a bit of a walk around town after I get done with this, catching up on email, and get a nice hot shower. The weather is quite different from back home, but I'd take this over 100 degree days with humidity any day! You just put a sweatshirt and a light jacket on to keep you dry when it's raining and you're set.
Now that I am here I have no doubt in my mind that this is where I want to be!! It has been so nice being back, I really do hope that in time some of you guys find your way up here so that I can show you what it is that captured my heart in this gorgeous land. There's no place on this earth more beautiful than Alaska...
Schmoopee has settled in perfectly, and after two baths she no longer smells after being stuck in her crate during the ferry ride! She has her crate in the laundry room, a bed in my bedroom, and has enjoyed getting to smell everything that is new to her. She is snoozing right now on her blanket in my bedroom, that spoiled pup! Below is a wallpaper that I made for my own laptop, but if you want to use it then go ahead, it is formatted at 1440x900. It was taken in Ketchikan while on her trip off the boat, I really think it's a cute picture, but I am biased! ;) Just click on the smaller image below to open the full size image.
Just so everyone knows, Alaska time is 4 hours behind the time back home in Indiana... But feel free to call or email, I'll always get back to you as soon as I get a chance!!

What a cute picture of Schmoops! I'm so glad to hear that you are settling in! I guess I'll forgive you for getting the DirectTV set up for Buckeye games, lol. I can't speak too much because I have yet to hear anything good about IU this year, guess I'll still have tailgating! Let me know when you want a visitor! I can't wait to see you! There is no doubt in my mind that I'll love Hoonah after seeing the beautiful pictures! Love ya!
