Goodbye Indianapolis...

Only 11 Days Left...

... Until I leave Indiana on my cross-country drive.

Time is already speeding by, I only have two shifts left here at Plainfield Police Department and then I am no longer a Dispatcher. This is something that has been almost bittersweet for me to think aboout, as happy as I will be to get out of this Dispatch center and the wreck that it has become since the merger a year ago, I have made alot of great memories in my 4 1/2 years here at PPD and that is what will be hard to leave behind. The person I was when I came into this position is certainly not who I am today, for better or for worse, it has been a life changing experience working here.

The next week is going to be a hectic one for me, between trying to get things with my workplace squared away and the activities I have planned with my friends and family, I should have plenty of great memories to take away from my last few days in Indiana..

Since this is supposed to be a photoblog, here's a new one for you... My darling Schmoopee.

Tentative Driving Itinerary

Good Evening, I hope that everyone is doing well...

Me? I'm just here at work planning out what I believe will be my day-to-day driving itinerary for the drive out to Bellingham, Washington; my longest day of driving will be when I pass through Montana at around 12 1/2 hours.

This is what my plans look like for now::
August 3rd- Leave Indiana - Stop in Leavensworth, KS
August 4th- Leave Leavensworth, KS - Stop around Rapid City, SD (Find hotel room)
August 5th- Leave Rapid City, SD - Stop in Spokane, WA (Find hotel room)
August 6th- Leave Spokane, WA - Stop in Seattle, WA
August 7th- Leave Seattle, WA - Stop in Bellingham, WA (Find hotel room)
August 8th- Leave Bellingham, WA on ferry to Juneau, AK
August 11th- Leave Juneau, AK on ferry to Hoonah, AK.

I did decide to purchase a laptop before this trip begins so that I can stay in touch with everyone as I make my way west... I will try to do a blog every evening from my hotel room or wherever I am staying that night, and I am sure that there will be plenty of photos to share as well. This drive is quite intimidating to look at on a map, but it's an experience that I cannot wait to get started... I have always loved traveling but have gotten to do very little in my 23 years, now I will be able to see parts of this country that I may never have had the chance to see otherwise!

With Schmoopee as my co-pilot, what more could a girl ask for when it comes to a little summer adventure?!

Can Summer Really Be Halfway Over???

I really hope that everyone had a safe, happy & fun 4th of July weekend!

I wanted to share that I have posted the results of my first try at photographing fireworks (what better thing to do on the 4th huh?) and I am always interested in hearing what folks have to say about my work... So feel free to take a look and leave your feedback here in the comment link below this post!

Here's your photo for today... Just a quick self portrait of Schmoopee & I before the festivities on Friday and a snapshot of Schmoopee having some fun on Plainfield Ladder121.
